NBA Player Updates 12/5: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More

We’ve got a big day ahead of us in the NBA, starting this afternoon and moving through the evening with 10 matchups out there. That said, let’s check our daily look at the headlines and see who’s in the news.

Knicks-Nets: The Knicks came out last night against their inter-city rival Nets and set the tone early, outscoring Brooklyn 42-21 in the first quarter. That would eventually lead to a 108-91 victory that got the team back to .500 on the season.
Carmelo Anthony put up 28 points here, while Kristaps Porzingis managed 19. Arron Afflalo pitched in 18 points of his own.
New York has won the last two games after dropping four in a row.

Hawks-Lakers: Kobe Bryant continued his farewell tour last night, heading to Atlanta for a matchup against the Hawks. The Lakers were in a good position to win the game until the final minutes, when Atlanta took over for an eventual 100-87 victory.
Al Horford put up 16 points, while Paul Millsap and Kent Bazemore each logged 15.
Bryant had another ugly shooting night with 14 points on a 4-of-19 line.

Rockets-Mavericks: James Harden didn’t start out too well against the Mavericks in Dallas last night, but he picked up his game later on to help the team to a 100-96 victory. He’d score 25 points.
The Rockets had a good night from 3-point range as well. Patrick Beverly made four of them, all in the first half.
As for the Mavericks, Deron Williams had 22 points and six assists but committed eight turnovers.

Pelicans-Cavs: The Pelicans flashed some of their potential last night at home against the Cavaliers, taking a 114-108 overtime victory in thrilling fashion.
Anthony Davis posted 31 points, 12 rebounds and four steals here, hitting three straight jumpers to start out overtime.
LeBron James--who had 37 points--and the Cavs stormed back late in the game and even took the lead in the fourth, but the Pelicans were able to hold them off.
