The Charlotte Hornets play host to the Detroit Pistons tonight at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Pistons have been a pretty inconsistent team all season, but they're suddenly going for a fifth straight win after last night's 111-91 win over the Lakers. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the scoring with 22 points, Reggie Jackson added 20 while Andre Drummond had a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds in just 24 minutes as the Pistons stormed out to a 65-42 lead at halftime and never looked back. The Pistons have really been on a tear offensively during their winning streak, averaging 114 points per game, led by Jackson who is averaging 27 points in his last four outings.

Meanwhile, the Hornets have won six of their last eight overall and are coming off an impressive 102-96 upset win at Chicago. Nicolas Batum led the team with 24 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while Cody Zeller and Kemba Walker added 17 points each as the Hornets won without Al Jefferson who will miss another two weeks while nursing a strained calf injury. The Hornets were coming off a 116-99 home loss to the Warriors but showed plenty of resolve to bounce back and earn a tough win on the road, elevating their record to 11-8 on the season and 3-5 on the road.
In ATS trends, the Pistons are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games, while the Hornets are 7-3-1 ATS in hteir last 11 games against a team with a winning record and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
Head to head, the Pistons are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Charlotte.
This should be a good game as both teams have been in strong form lately, but while the Hornets are an impressive 8-3 at home, the absence of Jefferson will be too much to overcome against the Pistons who have Drummond in the paint.
