NBA Player Updates 12/12: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
December 12, 2015
We’ve got a pretty good-looking set of NBA action headed our way, starting early this evening. While we’re waiting on those tip-offs, let’s check out the headlines this morning and see who’s in the news.
Pacers-Heat: Games between Indiana and Miami are always good, and this was no exception. Monta Ellis helped guide the Pacers to a home victory 96-83 last night, pouring in 24 points, six assists and six steals. The win stopped a three-game skid for Indy.
The first half was controlled by Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, who combined for 28 of the team’s 48 points in the first two quarters. The Pacers got back in it during the third and down the stretch, however.

Cavs-Magic: The Cavaliers didn’t have a whole lot of trouble with the Magic in Orlando last night. They’d roll to a 111-76 victory, thanks to LeBron James’ 25 points and eight assists. Timofey Mozgov helped out with 17 points, and the Cavaliers got their 12th straight win against the Magic.
The Cavs got guard Iman Shumpert back for this one; it was the first time he played this year thanks to a wrist injury. He would play 25 minutes and score 14 points.
Warriors-Celtics: The Celtics very nearly put the clamps on Golden State’s perfect season, but the defending champs were able to come out on top after two overtime periods.
Stephen Curry put up his worst shooting outing of the season in the 124-119 victory, scoring 38 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists. He made just 9-of-27 from the field but was 6-of-13 from 3-point range and had 14 more from the free throw line.
The Warriors will play tonight to try and go 7-0 on their road trip; no other team has done that in league history.
Spurs-Lakers: The Kobe Bryant farewell tour made a stop in San Antonio last night, on the way to a 109-87 Spurs victory.
LaMarcus Aldridge put up 24 points with 11 rebounds; Kawhi Leonard managed 16 with 11 rebounds.
On the other side, D’Angelo Russell dropped a new career-high with 24 points, six assists and six rebounds. Bryant went 5-of-12 from the floor and had 12 points overall.
