The New York Knicks search for some momentum with a road win versus the Portland Trailblazers on Saturday.
The New York Knicks are simply trying to stay afloat right now but their recent performances have made it difficult with four consecutive defeats. The nicks must control the scoreboard to succeed but learned you still have to score to win after a 99-97 loss at Sacramento on Thursday. The Knicks sank shots at less then 40% and gave the ball away 19 times to give the 45% shooting Kings ten more looks and the win. Carmelo Anthony poured in 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds but was just 8-21 shooting while Arron Affalo netted14 points. Kristaps Porzingis tossed in 13 points and snagged seven boards with Lance Thomas chipping in with ten points.

If the Portland Trailblazers expect to make some noise they need to win more then a few games here and there. At 10-14 the first thing the Trailblazers have to do is reach .500 because nobody goes anywhere with a losing record. The Trailblazers score and allow around 101 points so if either end of the floor struggles this team has a problem. Portland looks to build on a 106-96 victory at Phoenix where the Suns hit at 43%with Portland countered with 47% accuracy with 13 more looks and nine more baskets. CJ McCollum led the Blazers with 26 points while Allen Crabbe and Damian Lilliard added 18 points apiece with five yanks each. Al-Farouq Aminu added 13 points and 13 rebounds as the offense had plenty of options.
The Knicks are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and the over is 5-1 in Knicks last 6 Saturday games while the under is 10-2 in Knicks last 12 games following a straight up loss. The over is 7-0 in Trail Blazers last 7 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days and the under is 7-1 in Trail Blazers last 8 games following a ATS win while the over is 4-1 in Trail Blazers last 5 games playing on 0 days rest. Knicks are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings and are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Portland. I don’t see anything that says these teams are worth the risk but gun to my head…
