The Toronto Raptors invade the AmericanAirlines Arena to battle the Miami Heat tonight.
The Raptors have split their last 10 games and are in danger of losing a third straight after falling to the Hornets in a 109-99 overtime loss last night. DeMar DeRozan led the scoring with 31 points while Terrence Ross chipped in with 17 points, but Kyle Lowry had a horrific shooting performance, making just six of 29 from the field for his 20 points. As a team, the Raptors did a great job of rallying from a 12-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to force overtime, but they just fell to pieces defensively in the overtime period to fall to 16-11 on the season and 8-7 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Heat will be looking to build on their three-game winning streak after beating the Nets by 104-98 on Wednesday. Dwyane Wade led the team with 28 points on 13 of 17 shooting, Hassan Whiteside added 20 points while Goran Dragic had 16 points as the Heat shot a healthy 53 percent from the field. Defensively, the Heat have done a great job to hold seven of their last eight opponents to less than 100 points and a lot of the credit goes to Whiteside who has been on a tear lately, averaging a league-best 3.9 blocks per game on the season.
In ATS trends, the Raptors are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team above .600, while the Heat are 15-37-2 ATS in their last 54 games following a win and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight home games against a team with a winning road record.
Head to head, the Raptors are 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five.
These teams last met on Nov. 8 and it was the Heat who won by 96-76 thanks to their defense and I'm expecting more of the same as the Heat are clearly the team in better form in this one.
