NBA Player Updates 12/21: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
December 21, 2015
We’ve got a pretty steady stream of NBA games coming our way this week, starting with tonight’s nine-game set. While we’re waiting on those, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there in the league.
Heat-Blazers: The Heat were certainly “heated” during the fourth quarter of yesterday’s win over the Blazers at home. Goran Dragic was ejected for the first time in his career during the fourth quarter, but the rest of the team charged to an eventual 116-109 result.
Chris Bosh put up 29 points, and Hassan Whiteside had 22 with 11 rebounds. Dwyane Wade logged 18 points and seven assists.
Dragic got tossed for arguing a couple of quick foul calls, and was out for the last 13:37 in the fourth.

Cavs-Sixers: Kyrie Irving made his season debut for the Cavaliers yesterday, scoring 12 in 17 minutes in a 108-86 victory against the lowly 76ers.
LeBron James put up 23 points of his own, helping hand Philly their 10th straight loss and 28th overall this season.
The Cavaliers are now 12-1 at home and looking forward to a big Christmas Day matchup against the Warriors. That’ll be a must-see game.
Pelicans-Nuggets: Anthony Davis came into this game very sick, but was still able to put up an impressive line. He left in the first quarter to get a couple of IVs in the locker room and was able to come back out in the fourth. In all, he scored 27 points with six rebounds and four blocks in the 130-125 victory.
New Orleans had six players put up double-digit points. Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holiday each had 21.
On the other side, Will Barton had a career-high 32 points with 10 rebounds.
Hawks-Magic: Kyle Korver came alive in the fourth quarter of last night’s 103-100 Hawks victory over the Magic. He scored 13 of his 19 overall points in that one period, including four 3-pointers. Mike Scott would pitch in with 15 points off the bench, while Al Horford and Jeff Teague each had 14.
Nik Vucevic led the Magic with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Elfrid Payton put up 14 points, six assists and five steals.
