The Phoenix Suns play host to the Denver Nuggets tonight at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
The Nuggets are in need of a win after losing three straight including a 111-107 loss to the Lakers last night. Will Barton led the scoring with 25 points off the bench, Gary Harris added 21 while Nikola Jokic had 15, but while the Nuggets played well to lead by 64-51 at halftime, they just couldn't slow the Lakers in the second half as LA poured on 60 points thanks largely to Kobe Bryant who finished with a season-high 31 points. With the loss, Denver drops to 11-17 on the season and 5-9 at home.

Meanwhile, the Suns have lost four of their last five and are in danger of losing a third straight after Monday's 110-89 loss at Utah. Brandon Knight had a great game of 26 points off the bench while Mirza Teletovic added 17, but no one else finished in double digits as the Suns shot just 39 percent from the field. The Suns' starting lineup were simply appalling and you have to point the finger at Eric Bledsoe who scored just eight points on two of 10 shooting, but the Suns were playing on the second night of a back to back set, so fatigue may have been a factor.
In ATS trends, the Nuggets are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a loss, while the Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record.
Head to head, the Nuggets are 1-8 ATS in the last nine meetings overall and 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Phoenix.
This is one of the hardest games to pick of the night because you just don't know what you're going to get from these two struggling teams. I like the Suns to bounce back at home and win this one, but I don't see why they should be favored by so many points.
