NBA Player Updates 12/28: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
December 28, 2015
We’ve got a whopping 11 games coming up in the NBA this evening, which marks a great opportunity to start the workweek out right. While we’re waiting on tip-offs, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there.
Grizzlies-Lakers: The Grizzlies didn’t have too much trouble with the visiting Lakers yesterday, taking a 112-96 victory at home.
Mike Conley put up 19 points here, while Jeff Green tallied 17 of his own. Kobe Bryant had 14 points in the first quarter, but didn’t get a whole lot of contributions from his supporting cast. He had 19 all together, playing only the first and third quarters due to knee issues.

Knicks-Celtics: The Knicks couldn’t get it together over an extended period against the Celtics last night in Boston, and it resulted in a 100-91loss for New York. It was the fourth straight victory for the Celtics.
New York got it to 90-85 with a little over three minutes left, but couldn’t finish.
Isaiah Thomas scored 21 here, while Jae Crowder put up 18 of his own. Kelly Olynyk had 11 points and nine rebounds.
Thunder-Nuggets: Enes Kanter had a great game last night against the Nuggets, helping to lead his team to a 122-112 victory. He scored 21 points overall, with 11 of them coming in a five-minute span that helped carry the team to the win.
Russell Westbrook put up 30 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds in a near-miss triple-double (it would have been his fourth of the year so far).
Kevin Durant, meanwhile, put up 26 points and 10 assists. The thunder have won 10 of their last 12.
Blazers-Kings: C.J. McCollum has turned into a key piece for the Blazers, and he showed his stuff again last night against the Kings. He logged 35 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists in a 98-94 victory in Sacramento--very Clyde Drexler-like numbers.
The 35 points McCallum scored were two short of a career-high. He came into this game averaging 20 points and shooting almost 40 percent from 3-point range.
On the other side, DeMarcus Cousins had 36 points and six rebounds for the Kings. A win would have given coach George Karl 1,155 career wins, tying him with Phil Jackson for fifth place on the all-time list.
