December 30, 2015
After a relatively light five-game set last night, we‘ve got a whopping 10 games ahead of us in the NBA this evening. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look at some of the notable players and situations out there in the league.
Knicks-Pistons: The Knicks came into last night’s matchup against the Pistons with a four-game losing streak in tow, but they were able to buck that trend at the Garden with a 108-96 victory.
Carmelo Anthony put up 24 points, with a red-hot Derrick Williams adding 18.
Even more importantly, the Knicks held the NBA’s leading rebounded Andre Drummond to just nine boards. He had nine straight appearances with double-digit rebounds coming into this one.

Hawks-Rockets: The Hawks’ Kyle Korver was in quite the shooting slump, but the team still managed to pull out a gutsy 121-115 victory over the rockets in Houston last night.
Al Horford put up 30 points and 14 rebounds, while Kent Bazemore logged 26 points of his own. Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague each pitched in 22.
It was the seventh victory in eight games for the Hawks, even with Korver scoring just two points.
Thunder-Bucks: If you like offense, this was the game for you. The Thunder snagged a 131-123 victory over Milwaukee last night, thanks to the efforts of their two big stars.
Russell Westbrook put up 27 points, and Kevin Durant had 26. Cameron Payne helped out with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting to help the team keep pace.
On the other side, it was a career outing for Khris Middleton. He put up 36 points and 13-of-22 shooting.
Cavs-Nuggets: Today’s LeBron James’ birthday, and he gave himself a present last night in the form of a 93-87 win over the Nuggets in Denver.
James put up 34 points here, with Iman Shumpert pitching in a season-high 16.
The Nuggets have been plagued with injury woes recently, so they had to rely on a big effort from Will Barton, who had 29 points. They’ve lost six of their last seven games.
