January 1, 2016
We’re heading into a five-game NBA set this evening, which will be the perfect way to kick off the new year. While we’re waiting on those tip-offs, let’s check out some of the notable players and stats in the news today.
Bucks-Pacers: Khris Middleton had a great game last night against the Pacers, and he needed every bit of it. He logged 33 points in helping his team to a 120-116 win in Indianapolis.
Greg Monroe posted 23 points, and as a team the Bucks shot 58 percent. The Pacers were within three points with just over a minute remaining, but Milwaukee was able to hold them off.

Pistons-Timberwolves: The Pistons got back to a power game last night against the Timberwolves in Auburn Hills, and it led to a 115-90 victory. Andre Drummond led the way on 23 points and 18 rebounds, while Reggie Jackson pitched in 19 points and nine assists for his part.
At this time last year, the Pistons were a miserable 8-23 and flailing in the standings. As of now, they’re 18-15 and sharp enough to make a postseason run.
Warriors-Rockets: The Warriors’ dream season is back on track again, with their latest victory coming against the Rockets in Houston, 114-110. It was a nice bounce-back from an embarrassing loss to Dallas.
Klay Thompson scored 38 points here, and Draymond Green posted 16 assists (a career-high), 10 points and 11 rebounds. It was his fifth triple-double this year, which leads the league.
On the other side, James Harden put up 30 points.
Suns-Thunder: Last night in OKC, the Thunder got a good test from the Suns, but ultimately were able to overcome and take the victory 110-106.
Russell Westbrook put up 36 points and 12 assists here, while Kevin Durant managed 23 points. The Thunder have won three straight games and 12 of their last 14 outings.
