The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the San Antonio Spurs tonight at Staples Center.
The Spurs will be gunning for a 13th straight win tonight after cruising past the lowly Suns in a 117-89 blowout on Thursday. Tim Duncan was rested for the game while the in-form Tony Parker sat out with soreness in his hip, but that didn't slow down the Spurs who went about their business, sharing the load while keeping every player's minutes below 30 minutes. Kawhi Leonard led the scoring with 21 points, Boban Marjanovic added 17 points while Jonathon Simmons had 13 as the Spurs improved to 37-6 on the season and 13-6 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Lakers have lost eight of their last nine and are in danger of losing a fifth straight after getting blown out by the Kings in a 112-93 defeat at home on Wednesday. Brandon Bass led the scoring with 18 points while Kobe Bryant and Louis Williams added 15 points each but it was never going to be enough against the Kings who pulled away with a dominant 55-41 second half performance. Los Angeles have now lost their last four games by an average of 17.7 points to drop to 9-35 on the season and 5-14 at home.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 4-0 ATS in their last four road games and 46-20 ATS in their last 66 games overall, while the Lakers are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 games following a double-digit loss at home and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
Head to head, the Spurs are 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles.
Other than the fact that the Spurs may rest some players as they look ahead to their marquee matchup with the Warriors, there is no reason why the Spurs shouldn't win this one by at least 20 points so that's where I'm leaning.
