NBA Player Updates 1/23: The Latest News from Around the League, Tonight's TV Schedule and More
January 23, 2016
We’re starting off our weekend right in the NBA, with 10 games on the evening schedule. Before we get set for those, let’s check out our daily look at the headlines and scores to see what everyone’s talking about.
Celtics-Bulls: The Celtics were able to hold off a late charge from the Bulls last night in Boston, leading to a 110-101 win.
Isaiah Thomas put up 22 points here, while Avery Bradley had 21. Jared Sullinger doubled up on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Boston was up by 15 at the half, but the Bulls got to within one point in the fourth quarter. Jimmy Butler had 28 points and 14 rebounds for Chicago.

Knicks-Clippers: The Clippers had no problems with the Knicks last night, easing toward a 116-88 victory. They made plenty of easy baskets, nailing jumper after jumper throughout the game.
DeAndre Jordan had 20 points on 7-of-7 shooting, but was tossed in the third quarter (along with the Knicks’ Robin Lopez) after a scuffle and a technical.
Chris Paul was injured in the melee, but would go on to score 16 points, 13 assists and six rebounds.
Raptors-Heat: Kyle Lowry led the Raptors to a 101-81 win against the Heat last night with 15 points and six assists.
Toronto never trailed in this one.
DeMar DeRozan posted 33 points, with 4-of-5 from 3-point range. He now has at least 30 in three straight games.
Interestingly enough, this was the 10-year anniversary of Kobe Bryant’s famous 81-point game against the Raptors, and Toronto held Miami to exactly that total.
Warriors-Pacers: Golden State coach Steve Kerr made his return to the courtside last night, watching his Warriors take a 122-110 win over the Pacers.
Stephen Curry logged a triple-double on 39 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. He nailed a shot from three-quarter court at the end of the first, but it was just late. He’d go on to bag one from half-court just before halftime.
