The Los Angeles Lakers travel to the Moda Center to take on the Portland Trailblazers tonight.
The Lakers will be looking to avoid a sixth straight loss after getting thumped by the Spurs in a 108-95 defeat last night. D'Angelo Russell led the team in scoring with 18 points on eight of 10 shooting off the bench, while Jordan Clarkson and Louis Williams chipped in with 16 points each but while the final score looks respectable, the Lakers were always a couple steps behind the Spurs. The Lakers could have done with a little more production from Kobe Bryant who scored just five points, but really it was their defense that allowed too many fast break points which was the difference in the end. With the loss, Los Angeles falls to 9-36 on the season and 5-15 at home.

Meanwhile, the Trailblazers have won four of their last six games but are coming off a disappointing 104-98 loss to the Hawks. CJ McCollum led hte way with 28 points while Al-Farouq Aminu added 12 points, but Damian Lillard shot just eight of 22 for his 18 points. Overall it was a tight game until the last six minutes of the fourth quarter where the Hawks just executed their offense better and pulled away with the narrow win. Portland is now 19-26 on the season and 10-10 at home.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, while the Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games against a team below .400.
Head to head, the Lakers are 15-38 ATS in the last 53 meetings and 7-20 ATS in the last 27 meetings in Portland.
The Blazers have really found a nice bit of form lately and should be more than good enough to blow away a struggling Lakers team playing on the road without rest.
