The Dallas Mavericks play host to the Miami Heat tonight at the American Airlines Center.
The Mavericks had won three of their last four games and were going for a third straight win before the Hawks blew them away by 112-97 in a rout on Monday. Chandler Parsons had a nice double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, Dirk Nowitzki added 18 points while JJ Barea had 15 points off the bench, but the Mavs just had no answer for the Hawks' Jeff Teague who scorched them for a season-high 32 points on 12 of 15 shooting. To make matters worse, Deron Williams played just eight minutes Monday before leaving the game with a hip contusion. With Devin Harris already injured, coach Carlisle will have to give more minutes to Barea and Parsons to fill in the point guard position.

Meanwhile, the Heat will be looking to bounce back after having their four-game win streak snapped by a 115-102 loss at Houston last night. Luol Deng led the scoring with 17 points, Dwyane Wade added 16 points while five other players finished in double figures, but it still wasn't enough to beat the Rockets who just couldn't miss, making over 52 percent from the field and 16 of 35 from the 3-point line. Hassan Whiteside missed his fifth straight game with an oblique injury and has been ruled out for tonight's game, which means that Amar'e Stoudemire will remain in the starting lineup.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 7-18 ATS in their last 25 road games against a team with a winning home record, while the Mavs are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 home games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a loss of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the Heat are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings in Dallas and the road team is 20-5-2 ATS in the last 27 meetings overall.
The Mavs have opened as slight favorites against the stumbling Heat, but I actually think this is a good spot for Miami as they're going to be up against a Mavs team with a thin backcourt.
