The San Antonio Spurs invade the Toyota Center to take on the Houston Rockets tonight.
The Spurs have won 10 of their last 11 games and will be aiming for a fifth straight win tonight after making light work of the Jazz in a 96-78 win on Thursday. Kawhi Leonard finished the game with a game-high 29 points on 10 of 15 shooting, Tony Parker added 16 points while LaMarcus Aldridge had 15 as the Spurs methodically broke down the young Jazz and cruised to their second straight double digit victory. With the win, San Antonio improves to 49-9 overall which has them 3.5 games behind Golden State.

Meanwhile, the Rockets looked destined to lose their fifth game in six outings but managed to turn a 21-point deficit in the third quarter into one of their best wins of the season. Dwight Howard had a nice game of 19 points and 13 rebounds but this game was all about James Harden who dominated the game with 46 points on 16 of 26 shooting to go along with five rebounds and eight assists in one of the best solo performances of the season. With the win, Houston improves to 29-29 on the season, leaving them in eighth place in the Western Conference standings.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 17-8 ATS in their last 25 against the Western Conference and 5-0 ATS in their last five against the NBA Southwest, while the Rockets are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the Spurs are 4-9 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall and 0-6 ATS in the last six meetings in Houston.
The Rockets are coming off a great win thanks to Harden who put the team on his back, but I can't see those same type of heroics working against the Spurs who have been on an absolute tear lately. Even though the stats are pointing towards the Rockets to cover, I'm sticking with the Spurs to win and cover this small spread.
