The Charlotte Hornets and the Atlanta Hawks do battle today at the Philips Arena.
The Hornets have won eight of their last 10 games and will be looking to cap off their six-game road trip with a win following Friday's thrilling 96-95 win at Indiana. Marvin Williams led the team in scoring with 26 points while Cody Zeller had a nice game of 14 points on five of five shooting, but with the game on the line, the Hornets turned to Kemba Walker who hit the game-winner with 2.4 seconds left on the clock to finish with 22 points and the win for his team. Charlotte is now 30-27 overall which leaves them in seventh place in the crowded Eastern Conference.

Meanwhile, the Hawks have lost five of their last seven games but they were able to snap a three-game skid with a dominant 103-88 win over the shorthanded Bulls who were without leading scorers in Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler. Jeff Teague led the scoring with 19 points and nine assists, Al Horford added 18 points while Kent Bazemore chipped in with 17 as the Hawks methodically chipped away at the makeshift Bulls lineup and winning by double digits despite shooting just 41 percent from the field. With the win, Atlanta improves to 32-27 overall which is currently good enough for fifth in the Eastern standings.
In ATS trends, the Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last six road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall, while the Hawks are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five home games.
Head to head, the Hornets are 3-1-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the home team is 6-1-1 ATS in the last eight meetings.
The Hawks really should be winning these types of games if they are serious about making noise in the postseason, but the Hornets have been in season-best form lately and I think they can pull off the upset in this one.
