The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Brooklyn Nets tonight at the Staples Center.
The Nets have surprisingly won five of their last nine games and are now going for a third straight win after sneaking past the Jazz in a 98-96 win on Saturday. Thaddeus Young led the scoring with 21 points, Brook Lopez added 19 points while Wayne Ellington had 16 as the Nets beat the Jazz for their second straight win since shipping off Joe Johnson to Miami. With the win, Brooklyn improves to 17-42 on the season and 6-20 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Clippers were one of the hottest teams in the league for a long while before splitting their last six games. However, they looked pretty good in their 117-107 win at Sacramento on Friday thanks to a massive night from their leader. Chris Paul dominated the game with a season-high 40 points to go with eight rebounds and 13 assists, Jeff Green added 22 points while Jamal Crawford had 21 as the Clippers went back and forth with the Kings for the first half before going on a 20-0 run in the third quarter to snatch victory and improve to 38-20 on the season.
In ATS trends, the Nets are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five games against teams below .400.
Head to head, the Nets are 7-1 ATS in the last eight meetings but the home team is 22-6 ATS in the last 28 meetings.
The Clippers are clearly the better team with more to play for, but the Nets have looked like a better, more enthusiastic team in their last two games since trading Johnson, so I'm taking the points in what could be a closer game than it should be.
