February 29, 2016
We have a nice NBA schedule coming our way tonight, and there’s plenty to talk about in the meantime. That said, let’s check out our daily wrap-up and see who’s trending in the news out there.
Cavs-Wizards: Yesterday in DC, the Cavaliers got blown out pretty badly against the host Wizards. It was their second loss in a row, as they dropped the game 113-99.
Cleveland was down by 30 at one point, stretched thin by giving LeBron James a day off.
John Wall scored 21 points here, and had 13 assists with seven rebounds. Otto Porter Jr. scored 21, giving the Wizards a 5-2 record since the break.

Hawks-Hornets: The Hawks were able to pry themselves out of their last two games on a five-game home-stand, ending up with an 87-76 victory over the Hornets last night.
Marvin Williams logged 16 points and Jeremy Lin scored 15 for the Hornets, but they couldn’t out-duel Al Horford, who had 13 points and 16 rebounds. Kent Bazemore posted 14 points in a nice supporting role.
Charlotte had some shooting troubles here, going 1-for-19 from the field as a team at one point.
Mavs-Timberwolves: Dallas got out to a hot start last night against the Timberwolves, ending up with a 128-101 victory at home.
Chander Parsons posted 29 points here, rolling to the easy victory. He was 10-of-15 from the field overall.
Shabazz Muhammad posted 24 points to lead his team on the other side. Dirk Nowitzki had a nice game as well, helping his team get off to a hot start and earning some rest down the stretch.
Knicks-Heat: Joe Johnson didn’t waste much time becoming a contributor for the Heat. He hopped right in to help guide his new team to a 98-81 win over the Knicks at the Garden. His efforts helped Miami get out to a 13-2 run to start this game, and the team never looked back.
Dwyane Wade put up 26 points here, while Hassan Whiteside managed 16 points with 11 rebounds. It was Miami’s fifth straight win in New York which ties a franchise record.
