The Cleveland Cavaliers play host to the surging Boston Celtics tonight at the Quicken Loans Arena.
The Celtics have won 16 of their last 20 games and will be looking to build on their current five-game win streak after sneaking past the Knicks by 105-104 last night. Isaiah Thomas led the way with 32 points and eight assists, Evan Turner added 21 points while Jae Crowder had 20 points and eight rebounds as the Celtics battled back from a double-digit deficit to extend their home win streak to 13 games. As a team, the Celtics shot 45.6 percent from the field and just four of 20 from the 3-point line, but they made with aggressiveness and hustle plays, resulting in a 30-4 advantage in fast break points and 60-32 advantage in points in the paint. With the win, Boston improves to 38-25 which is currently good enough for third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have split their last six games but will be going for a third straight win after crushing the Wizards by 108-83 last night. Kyrie Irving led the team in scoring with 21 points and eight assists while LeBron James filled the stat sheet with 19 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and three steals as the Cavs dominated the Wizards by 59-42 in the first half before cruising in the second half. With the win, Cleveland improves to 43-17 on the season which means they keep that two-game cushion over the second-placed Toronto.
In ATS trends, the Celtics are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games overall, while the Cavs are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the favorite is 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings and the road team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings.
The Cavs will need to keep winning games to keep their place atop the Eastern Conference standings, but the Celtics are a scrappy team on the rise and I think they will be good enough to cover the spread or maybe even pull off the upset. Take Boston with the points in what should be a close one.
