There are nine games ahead of us tonight in the NBA, and that will lead to plenty of on-court action for us basketball fans. That said, let’s take our daily look at some of the headlines and newsmakers out there right now.

Spurs-Wolves: The Spurs were able to get back on track last night in Minneapolis, defeating the Timberwolves 116-91.
LaMarcus Aldridge put up 29 points and seven rebounds here, while Kawhi Leonard had 15 of his own in a game that the Spurs led by as many as 26 points. Tim Duncan sat out again, as did Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili.
The Spurs are 54-10 right now.

Nuggets-Knicks: The Nuggets bagged a win over the visiting Knicks last night, taking a home victory 110-94.
Kenneth Faried put up 24 points and 10 rebounds, and on the other side Carmelo Anthony had 30 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
Anthony hasn’t won (0-3) visiting Denver after being traded to New York back in February of 2011.

Jazz-Hawks: Over in Salt Lake City, the Hawks beat the Jazz 91-84 last night, moving to a game and a half behind the Heat for the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Jeff Teague put up 24 points here, adding six assists. Paul Millsap had 18 points and nine rebounds.
The Atlanta point guard position outscored Utah’s PG spot by a whopping 31-9 margin. Gordon Hayward was the high man for Utah with 22 points.

Lakers-Magic: Are the Lakers finally gaining some traction? They could be. L.A. now has back-to-back wins after beating the Warriors and Magic this week.
The Orlando victory came last night at Staples Center, as D’Angelo Russell scored 27 points. Jordan Clarkson also had 24 points in the 107-98 tally, while Julius Randle matched a career-high with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
