The Dallas Mavericks and the Charlotte Hornets do battle at the Time Warner Cable Arena on Monday.
The Mavericks have the NBA's longest losing streak of five games so they'll be eager to snap out of their funk after falling to the Pacers by 112-105 on Saturday. Dirk Nowitzki led the scoring with a game-high 30 points on 10 of 16 shooting, Wesley Matthews added 15 points while Deron Williams had 13 points and eight assists but it wasn't enough against the Pacers who went to the free-throw line with regularity where they would connect on 27 of 29 attempts. Dallas has now lost four straight at home to fall to 19-16 at home and 33-33 overall which leaves them in eighth place in the Western Conference standings with an identical record to Houston who occupy the seventh spot.

Meanwhile, the Hornets will be looking to build on their current seven-game win streak after making light work of the Rockets in a 125-109 rout on Saturday. Kemba Walker has been averaging 29.0 points and 7.0 assists in the month of March and continued that hot form with another 26 points and six assists against the Rockets while Marvin Williams added 25 points in just 27 minutes of court time as the Hornets pulled away from a close contest with a dominant 35-22 fourth quarter to improve to 37-28 on the season and 25-9 at home. With the win, Charlotte moves from sixth place to fifth place in the Eastern Conference, just half a game behind fourth-placed Miami.
In ATS trends, the Mavs are 1-7 ATS in their last eight road games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Hornets are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the Mavs are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in Charlotte and the over is 6-1 in the last seven overall.
It's getting towards the business end of the regular season now and the Mavs really need to get moving if they want to climb up the rankings but they've just been in a slump so it's hard to back them against a Hornets team playing their best basketball of the season. I'm sticking with the red-hot Hornets to win at home where they've won their last eight games.
