The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Detroit Pistons collide in Game 4 tonight at The Palace.
For the third straight game in this series, the Pistons put up a great fight against the Cavaliers only to fall short. All five starters finished in double figures with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leading the way with 18 points and Andre Drummond chipping in with 17 points but in a close contest, it was the 3-point shooting that was the difference as the Pistons connected on just six of 23 three-pointers compared to the Cavaliers who sunk 12 of 29 three-point attempts. Another worrying statistic is that the Pistons were outrebounded by 46-32 which has been their strength all season so that needs to be their focus if they want to avoid a series sweep tonight.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers were led by their Big Three who combined for 66 points. Kyrie Irving led the way with 26 points on 11 of 20 shooting, LeBron James added 20 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists while Kevin Love had 20 points and 12 rebounds as the Cavs dominated the second half by 47-38 to pull away from a tight contest and improve their series lead to 3-0. By no means has this series been as one-sided as the score suggests, but the Cavs have clearly been the better team in late-game situations.
In ATS trends, the Cavs are 4-1 ATS in their last five Conference Quarterfinals games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win, while the Pistons are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a double digit loss at home and 1-6 ATS in their last seven Conference Quarterfinals games.
Head to head, the Cavs are 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings in Detroit and the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.
The Cavs have clearly been the better team in the series as they tend to always break away just when the Pistons look threatening, but I'm taking the points in this one as I think this game is going down to the wire. I like the Cavs to win this game but I think the desperate Pistons can get it all together for one game and maybe come out with the upset at home.
