The Miami Heat and the Charlotte Hornets collide in Game 6 tonight at the Time Warner Cable Arena.
The Heat desperately need a win to stay alive in the series after losing Game 5 by 90-88 on Wednesday night. Dwyane Wade led the way with a team-high 25 points on 11 of 19 shooting while Luol Deng added 16 points and Joe Johnson chipped in with 13, but in a tightly contested game, it was the Heat who faltered late and were outscored by 25-17 in the fourth quarter. As a team, the Heat shot just 42 percent from the field but were good enough to hold the Hornets to 39.3 percent shooting while outrebounding them by 50-41, but the Heat just couldn't hold off the Hornets when it really mattered late in the game. In fact, the Heat were down by two points with 2.3 seconds left on the clock but they couldn't even foul the Hornets' Cody Zeller to force him to shoot free throws after he caught the inbounds pass.

Meanwhile, the Hornets will be full of confidence now that they're just one win away from a second-round berth. All Jefferson and Kemba Walker scored just 14 points each for the Hornets while Jeremy Lin chipped in with just 11 points off the bench, but in a real bounce-back performance, Marvin Williams stepped up after going scoreless in Game 4 and led the team with 17 points on seven of 10 shooting. With three straight wins in the series now, the Hornets are in full control and they'll be looking to close it out in front of a raucus home crowd tonight.
In ATS trends, the Heat are 21-10 ATS in their last 31 against the Eastern Conference but just 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games, while the Hornets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last seven against the Eastern Conference.
Head to head, the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.
The Heat will be livid that they didn't get the win in Game 5 as they actually led for most of the game before faltering in the fourth quarter but they will want to regroup in a hurry if they want to level the series and force a Game 7. I'm actually loving this series so while I'd be happy to see this series going the distance, the Hornets have all the momentum now and I can see them winning this in a close one at home.
