The Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder collide in Game 5 at the Oracle Arena on Thursday night.
The Thunder are now just one win away from an NBA Finals berth after pushing the Warriors to the brink of elimination with a 118-94 win in Game 4. Russell Westbrook led from the front with a triple-double of 36 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists, Kevin Durant added 26 points while Serge Ibaka and Andre Roberson chipped in with 17 points each as the Thunder dominated the first half by 72-53 to set up the big win and improve to a commanding 3-1 lead in the series. As a team, the Thunder shot just 43.3 percent from the field and nine of 26 from the 3-point line, but they dominated the rebounding battle by 56-40 and simply looked like the more physical team which really rattled the Warriors, especially in the first half.
USA TODAY Sports
As for the Warriors, Klay Thompson poured in 19 points in the third quarter to finish with a team-high 26 points, but he looked to be the only scoring threat for the Warriors as Stephen Curry shot just six of 20 for his 19 points while Draymond Green added just six points on one of seven shooting. I'm not quite sure what has happened to the Warriors over the last two games, but they've now lost two straight games for the first time this season and they'll need to be at their best in Game 5 to avoid elimination in front of their home fans, so expect some changes from coach Steve Kerr in what is a must-win game at home.
In ATS trends, the Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall and 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, while the Warriors are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall.
Head to head, the Thunder are 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in Golden State and the home team is 10-1-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings overall.
There's no denying that the Thunder were absolutely dominant in their two home wins and will be full of confidence that they can seal the deal in Game 5, but I'm not backing against this Warriors team at the Oracle Arena in a must-win game. Take Golden State to force a Game 6 with a hard-fought win in this one.
