The Golden State Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder duke it out in Game 7 tonight at the Oracle Arena.
The Warriors have regained all the momentum in the Western Conference Finals by coming back to beat the Thunder by 108-101 in Game 6. Stephen Curry poured in 31 points with 10 rebounds and nine assists while Klay Thompson drained a total of 11 three-pointers en route to a game-high 41 points as the Warriors moved to within one win of a second straight NBA Finals berth. Draymond Green bounced back from a couple of rough games to finish with 12 points with 12 rebounds and six assists, but all everyone will be talking about was the shooting display from Thompson who single-handedly broke open a close contest to force a dramatic Game 7.
USA TODAY Sports
As for the Thunder, Kevin Durant led the team with 29 points while Russell Westbrook added 28 points with nine rebounds and 11 assists, but it was a rough shooting night as Durant and Westbrook combined to shoot just 20 of 58 from the field. Serge Ibaka had a nice game of 13 points with nine rebounds while Andre Roberson added 11 points, but the problem was turnovers and shot selection in the fourth quarter as the Thunder looked to be in the lead and in control for most of the game before going ice-cold from the field late. We didn't see the Thunder play much "hero ball" at all in this series, but it was certainly there in Game 6 and it cost the Thunder the game.
In ATS trends, the Thunder are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 16-7 ATS in their last 23 games against a team with a winning record, while the Warriors are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games following a win.
Head to head, the Thunder are 1-6 ATS in the last seven meetings in Golden State and the home team is 15-5-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings overall.
The Thunder need to keep their chins up as the series isn't quite over just yet, but I just get the feeling that the Warriors have all of the momentum in the series now and they should be too good tonight in their home building where they're so tough to beat.
