The Golden State Warriors host the Cleveland Cavaliers in game one of the NBA finals Thursday.
The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers butt heads in the NBA championship for the second straight season. It’s no surprise to see the Warriors back after setting the regular season win record with 73 but they looked shaky in the Western Conference semifinals after Oklahoma City took a 3-1 series lead before collapsing with three consecutive defeats.

The Cavaliers are not a surprise to make the championship either and are even better prepared with a healthy Kevin Love presenting a challenge that the Warriors didn’t have to worry about as he was already out last year with shoulder surgery. Of course Kyrie Irving broke his knee in the series opener a year ago and even do everything star LeBron James who was a one man wrecking crew could not carry the Cavs to the city’s first title in 51 years.
The question now is a healthy Cavs team capable of taking down Stephan Curry and Klay Thompson who both can drop 30 points on any given night and have a solid supporting cast of their own. Golden State won both match ups this season and will be the favorites to win it all once again regardless of who Cleveland puts on the floor but the Cavs have the ability to score and defend and the GSW are still a run and gun squad in my view.
The under is 4-1 in Cavaliers last 5 Thursday games and the Cavaliers are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 Thursday games while going 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and the under is 4-0 in Warriors last 4 games playing on 2 days rest while the Warriors are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games. The under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Golden State and the Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings while the under is 7-3-1 in the last 11 meetings.
A healthy Cavs squad and the points is the way I’m looking at this and hopefully they remain injury free…
