The Cleveland Cavaliers look to even the championship series with a win at the Golden State Warriors in game two.
The Cleveland Cavaliers came in to series opener at 100% with all their weapons and momentum but at the end of 48 minutes they were humbled by Golden State 104-89. Scoring 89 points on 39% simply isn’t a recipe’ for success against the Warriors on their home floor. Kyrie Irving led the Cleveland attack with 26 points on 7-22 with LeBron James scoring 23 points and grabbing 12 boards while handing out nine helpers. Kevin Love added 17 points and 13 rebounds while Tristan Thompson added ten points and another 12 boards. The bottom line is the core of the Cavs offense did not shoot the ball well and a 7-21 effort on threes wasn’t good enough.

If somebody would have told me Stephen Curry would be held to eleven points on 4-15 I would bet the Warriors were losers but the rest of the team stepped up in a big way as in six others scoring in double figures. Shaun Livingston paced the Warriors with 20 points with Draymond Green netting 16 points and grabbing eleven boards while Harrison Barnes scored 13. Andre Iguodala gave the GSW 12 points while Andrew Bogut and Leandro Barbosa combined for 21 points. In an odd contest Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 20 points on 12-27 but the Warriors sink shots at nearly 52% and win by double digits.
The under is 4-1 in Cavaliers last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and the Cavaliers are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 while the under is 3-1-1 in Cavaliers last 5 NBA Championship games. The under is 4-0 in Warriors last 4 games playing on 2 days rest and the Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 while going 10-2 ATS in their last 12 home games. The under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings in Golden State and the Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings while going 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Golden State.
I don’t know what happened to Cleveland in the opener and I have to think we see a better effort from them in game two or this might not be a long series…
