The Golden State Warriors head back home needing a win in game five to win the NBA title over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cleveland Cavaliers face the dubious task of heading to Golden State needing three wins to win the NBA championship. A 108-97 home loss Friday has the Cavs facing a 3-1 series deficit with the two man attack of Kyrie Irving and LeBron James falling short. Irving exploded for 34 points on 14-28 with James pumping in 25 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and posting nine assists. Kevin Love added eleven points with JR Smith and Tristan Thompson netted ten points apiece. Cleveland sank shots at 47% but were done in by a 6-26 effort on long balls.

The Golden State Warriors were dominated in game three but responded by raining three’s down on the Cavaliers while Stephen Curry finally went ‘off’. The Warriors star poured in a game high 38 points while nailing 7-13 from distance. Klay Thompson enjoyed his best performance of the series as well with a 25 point effort as the Splash Brothers didn’t need the bench to do all the heavy lifting. Harrison Barnes was next in line with 14 points while Andre Iguodala and Draymond Green combined for 19 points with Green hauling in 12 rebounds. The Warriors were held to under 41% from the floor but connected on 17-36 from beyond the arc.
I see Cleveland putting all their hopes on Irving and James and as we saw that wasn’t enough in game three and I’m not even going to mention Love. The Warriors have proven they can win without Thompson or Curry at their best and are not going to lose when this duo plays well. I don’t think this series goes past five games to be honest…
