The Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies square off Thursday night in preseason ball at the FedExForum.
The Atlanta Hawks will take the court for the first time and will look quite different than last season. The Hawks watched Jeff Teague and Al Horford leave the team, forcing Atlanta to shake up the starting lineup. The leaders and key contributors for the Hawks now lie in the hands of Paul Millsap, Dennis Schroder and the newly signed Dwight Howard. The all-star center returns to his childhood home and seems hungry to prove the doubters wrong as he turns 31 years old in December. For the preseason, the Hawks need younger guys to step up, including Tim Hardaway Jr., Matt Costello, Taurean Prince and Ryan Kelly. The Atlanta Hawks need to find quality young guys who can add depth to the bench and give eight guys who are 30 or older a rest.

The Memphis Grizzlies have a preseason game under their belt, which was a 102-97 victory over the Orlando Magic. In the victory, the Grizzlies forced 23 turnovers and shot a solid 47.2 percent from the field. Wade Baldwin IV led the way with 15 points off the bench while Mike Conley had 10 points and two assists. Marc Gasol had 10 points in just 13 minutes of action and Andrew Harrison dished six assists. The Memphis Grizzlies announced the veteran Zach Randolph will come off the bench this season in replace of JaMychal Green. The Grizzlies have to be better offensively if they’re ever going to get over the hump in the brutal Western Conference, and it appears first-year head coach David Fizdale isn't afraid to mix things up and try something different.
The Hawks are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games and the under is 9-3 in Hawks last 12 overall. The Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
The Grizzlies looked sharp in their last preseason game and I like the fact they have a game under their belt. The Hawks still have to get going with a new starting lineup in place and it may take some time. Give me the home team and the small line.
