The Charlotte Hornets and the Minnesota Timberwolves butt heads at Time Warner Cable Arena.
The trend in the NBA preseason is that few teams play for a full 48 minutes and that trend was evident in the Minnesota Timberwolves 109-100 victory at Miami. The Timberwolves trailed the Heat 62-47 before a 41-23 third quarter gave them a win. The Heat held a 46%-39% shooting edge but the Timberwolves were better from beyond the arc and at the foul line. Karl-Anthony Towns was Minnesota’s star with 20 points and ten rebounds with Anthony Wiggins right on his heels with 19 points despite a 3-11 effort from the floor. Shabazz Muhammad tossed in 14 points while Nemanja Bjelica and Brandon Rush added 12 points and eleven points.

The Charlotte Hornets will be looking to get in the win column following a 104-86 at Boston. The Hornets have had a few days off to work on a few things as neither end of the floor stood out. The Celtics rode a 31-20 second period to take control and Charlotte played the remainder of the game playing from behind. The Hornets were outshot 44%-38% with Boston holding a 9-1 advantage on threes. Charlotte didn’t have a whole lot going at the offensive end with Christian Wood leading the way with13 points and seven boards with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist adding eleven points and five pulls while Frank Kaminsky netted ten points and hauled in a game high 12 rebounds.
Minnesota are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and the under is 4-1 in Minnesota last 5 games following a straight up win while Minnesota are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. The under is 4-0 in Charlotte last 4 games playing on 1 days rest and the under is 5-0 in Charlotte last 5 overall while the over is 5-1 in Charlotte last 6 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. Minnesota are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings while going in the last 5 meetings in Charlotte.
You have to like what we saw from a young Timberwolves squad last time out while the Hornets were the complete opposite at both ends of the floor. The question is does Charlotte make adjustments. No line out so please check back…
