The Houston Rockets take on the New Orleans Pelicans at LeSports Center on Wednesday.
The Houston Rockets have been known to light up the scoreboard and it doesn’t seem to matter if it’s the regular season or preseason as scoring is as natural to them as breathing. The Rockets come off a 123-117 win versus New Orleans and the scoring trend continued. Houston pulled away late in the 4th to win behind 47% marksmanship and deadly 16-37 accuracy from beyond the arc. Houston leaned on scoring machine James Harden who poured in 26 points and handed out 15 assists while Eric Gordon followed with a 24 point effort. Ryan Anderson dropped 21 points with Clint Capela adding 12 points and seven boards while the duo of Corey Brewer and Nene scored eleven points apiece.

In a rematch of Sunday’s shootout with Houston, the New Orleans Pelicans knew they either had to slow down the Rockets with defense or score with them. The Pelicans tried the latter by choice or otherwise and came up short as the offense couldn’t keep up in a decisive 4th period. The Pelicans shot the ball well enough at 47% and were 30-38 from the stripe but a 7-21 performance on threes didn’t help their cause. New Orleans received a team high 25 points on 10-15 shooting from E’Twaun Moore with Anthony Davis in his shadow with 23 points and five yanks. Buddy Hield and Omar Asik tossed in 14 points apiece with Asik hauling in 14 rebounds while Solomon Hill chipped in with eleven points.
