The Washington Wizards and Sacramento Kings play a NBA preseason game Saturday night at the Rupp Arena.
The Washington Wizards are 2-2 in preseason play and will play their third road game. The Wizards are coming off a win over the Philadelphia 76ers in which they shot 42 percent from the field and made nine threes. Bradley Beal is coming off his best performance yet in which he produced 22 points and four assists while John Wall has 17 points and 13 assists in 35 minutes of play. Marcin Gortat has 18 rebounds in four games and Trey Burke 34 points in three preseason games. The Washington Wizards need their starting lineup to be healthy and consistent if this season is going to produce anything. It’s nice to see Beal coming off a solid shooting night and if he can continue that performance consistently, the Wizards could be better than expected.

The Sacramento Kings are also 2-2 in preseason play and coming off two straight victories. In the win over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Kings shot 58.7 percent from the field and made 13 threes. The Kings managed to play that well despite giving DeMarcus Cousins the night off due to rest. Darren Collison has 31 points and 12 assists in his last 46 minutes of play while Rudy Gay has 30 points and 13 rebounds in his last two games. Arron Afflalo has also been a breath of fresh air with double-digit points scored in two of the Kings’ four games. The Sacramento Kings are finding some needed momentum and have to feel good after making nearly every shot against the Lakers without their best player on the court. If the Kings can finish these next two games strong, Sacramento will feel good heading into the regular season.
The Wizards are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game and the over 5-1 in Wizards last 6 overall. The Kings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points. The Wizards are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Sacramento.
The Sacramento Kings are coming off a shooting performance for the ages against the Lakers and have to be a young, confident club eager to improve on such numbers. The Kings may be finding themselves a bit this preseason. I still don't trust the Wizards, as they're Wall and Beal, and then a bunch of other guys. In a pick em game, I'm going to side with the Kings.
