The Minnesota Timberwolves and Oklahoma City Thunder meet Sunday night in a NBA preseason game at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The Minnesota Timberwolves play a preseason back-to-back after beating the Miami Heat on Saturday. In the victory, the Timberwolves shot 48.1 percent from the field and turned the ball over 20 times. Karl-Anthony Towns has 34 points and 22 rebounds in his last two games while Andrew Wiggins is coming off a 23-point performance. Ricky Rubio has dished 21 assists in this preseason and Zach LaVine has 51 points in his last three games. The Minnesota Timberwolves are off to a nice 3-1 preseason record and are building some much needed confidence heading into regular season play. This will be the last road game for the Timberwolves before they end the preseason with two home games.

The Oklahoma City Thunder hope for a feel good preseason win after losing three of their four games. In the Thunder’s recent loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, OKC shot 42.4 percent from the field and turned the ball over 28 times. Russell Westbrook has produced 29 points and 11 assists in his last two games while Victor Oladipo is 3-16 from the field in his last two games. Enes Kanter and Cameron Payne continue to miss time due to injuries. The Oklahoma City Thunder pretty much know what they are heading into the regular season but would like some success before the regular season begins. Sloppy play and inconsistent offense doesn’t inspire much confidence in Oklahoma and may have some folks questioning when you add the fact Kevin Durant is no longer around.
The Timberwolves are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and the under is 6-1 in Timberwolves last 7 Sunday games. The Thunder are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and the under is 5-2 in Thunder last 7 overall. The under is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings.
The Oklahoma City Thunder have to win a preseason game eventually and should be able to get the job done at home against a young Minnesota team that played last night. The Timberwolves are likely going to rest some key players and monitor minutes. I like OKC to beat its first NBA team of the preseason and cover the small line.
