Phillips Arena and the Atlanta Hawks host an NBA preseason basketball match up with the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Atlanta Hawks come home Tuesday looking for another win after upending the Orlando Magic 105-98 on Sunday. The Hawks were tied heading in to the locker room but came out firing in the third period and came away with a tightly contested victory as a six point underdog. Orlando held a slight 44%-$1% shooting edge but the boxscore was about equal except where Atlanta sank eleven more free throws which was decisive. The Hawks received 19 points apiece from Tim Hardaway Jr. and Paul Millsap who also grabbed a team high nine rebounds. Thabo Sefolosha gave Atlanta 15 points on 5-8 while Taurean Prince netted 13 points.

The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping some fresh legs will lead them to victory after suffering a 116-104 defeat to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. This was a competitive contest except for the opening period where the Pelicans fell behind by 17 and were never able to cut in to the deficit.
