The Los Angeles Clippers and Sacramento Kings play an NBA preseason game Tuesday night at the Golden 1 Center on ESPN.
The Los Angeles Clippers finish up their preseason with a back-to-back game after losing to the Utah Jazz Monday night. In the loss, the Clippers shot 39.2 percent from the field and turned the ball over 17 times. Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin all had the night off, so there’s a good chance the Clippers stars are just waiting for the regular season to arrive. As for the other key guys, Austin Rivers has produced 32 points and nine assists in his last three games while Jamal Crawford has has made seven threes in his last four games. The Los Angeles Clippers are the one team besides the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors that I think could make a run at an NBA title. Depth of the Clippers will be the deciding factor, as guys outside of their big three have to be more consistent.
USA TODAY Sports
The Sacramento Kings end their preseason here and are coming off three straight victories. In their Saturday win over the Washington Wizards, the Kings shot 60 percent from the field and had 27 turnovers. DeMarcus Cousins has 36 points and nine assists in his last two games while Darren Collison has 42 points and 15 assists in his last two games. Omri Casspi is coming off a 16-point performance and Ben McLemore has dished seven assists in his last 60 minutes. The Sacramento Kings are a young team that’s gained some confidence during their stretch of preseason victories. It will be interesting to see if this translates to the regular season, as the Kings have not won more than 33 games in eight straight seasons.
The under is 5-0 in Clippers last 5 Tuesday games. The under is 10-2 in Kings last 12 games playing on 2 days rest and 4-1 in Kings last 5 overall. The Clippers are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Sacramento and the over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings.
The Kings have won three straight preseason games and are getting solid play out of their young guys. The Clippers will watch their minutes with their star players and are coming off the end of a back-to-back. While still just preseason, there's value with the Kings at home and the free points.
