The Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz meet Wednesday night in NBA preseason at the Vivint Smart Home Arena.
The Portland Trail Blazers hope to snap back-to-back preseason losses when they play their second to final exhibition game. In the Trail Blazers loss to the Denver Nuggets, Portland shot 39.8 percent from the field and made 15 threes. Damian Lillard has 53 points and 11 assists in his last three games while C.J. McCollum has 40 points and eight assists in his last 57 minutes. Mason Plumlee has chipped in double-digit points in two of his last three games and Maurice Harkless has combined for 23 points in his last three games. The Portland Trail Blazers seem to be regular season ready with their main core producing at a high level when on the court. The concern with the Trail Blazers is the depth, as we need to see other guys play consistent if Portland is going to take another step forward.

The Utah Jazz are 3-2 in preseason play and wrap things up with this game right here. In the Jazz’s Monday win over the Los Angeles Clippers, Utah shot 51.9 percent from the field and turned the ball over 16 times. George Hill has 26 points and 13 rebounds in his last three games while Dante Exum has 33 points and nine assists in his last two games. Derrick Favors, Gordon Hayward, Alec Burks and Rodney Hood didn’t play in Utah’s last game due to injuries. The Utah Jazz have allowed less than 100 points in four of their five preseason games showing that the defense is still there from last season. The goal now for the Jazz is to get healthy and gear up for a possible playoff run for the first time in a while.
The under is 4-1 in Trail Blazers last 5 games playing on 2 days rest and the over is 6-1 in Trail Blazers last 7 overall. The Jazz are 5-20-3 ATS in their last 28 Wednesday games and the under is 5-1 in Jazz last 6 games playing on 1 days rest. The Trail Blazers are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Utah and the over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
Even with so many banged up bodies, the Utah Jazz continue to play great defense and are a frustrating team to play overall. The Trail Blazers will be one of of my favorite teas to back in the regular season, but they're not that great on the road. I'll take the Jazz and the small line here.
