The Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls end their preseason with a Thursday matchup at the CenturyLink Center Omaha.
The Atlanta Hawks are 4-2 in preseason play and look to end the exhibition with three straight victories. In the Hawk’s win over the New Orleans Pelicans, Atlanta shot 41.9 percent from the field and made 6-21 threes. Dwight Howard has produced 25 points and 20 rebounds in his last two games while Kyle Korver has knocked down seven threes in four preseason games. Kent Bazemore has dished out nine preseason assists and Dennis Schroder has 30 points in his last 53 minutes of play. The Atlanta Hawks have looked sharp on the defensive end and are getting great play out of Howard in the paint. Despite losing Al Horford and Jeff Teague, the Hawks are a team that can still make some noise in the Eastern Conference.
USA TODAY Sports
The Chicago Bulls are 3-3 in preseason play and are coming off an overtime loss to the Charlotte Hornets. In the losing effort, the Bulls shot 42.6 percent from the field and made seven of 26 threes. Rajon Rondo has racked up 22 points and 16 assists in his last two games while Dwyane Wade has double-digit points in all four of his games. Jimmy Butler has 30 points in his last 51 minutes of play and Robin Lopez has grabbed 25 rebounds in his last three games. The Chicago Bulls have looked good offensively, topping 100 points in five straight games and making some shots from beyond the arc. If the Bulls can play that effective in the regular season, Chicago certainly has a chance to be better than most people predicted.
The Hawks are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games and the under is 8-2 in Hawks last 10 games following a ATS loss. The over is 8-1 in Bulls last 9 games playing on 2 days rest. The Hawks are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Chicago and the under is 10-1 in the last 11 meetings in Chicago.
The Chicago Bulls have been a lot better than expected in the preseason and have found offense along the way. The Hawks may have a slightly better record than the Bulls, but you have to beimpressed with the way the Bulls are moving the ball and hitting the long shot. I'm going to side with the Bulls in this matchup and the short line.
