The Toronto Raptors hope to end their NBA basketball preseason with a win at the Washington Wizards.
The Toronto Raptors seemed ready to begin the NBA basketball regular season after a 103-92 victory at the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. The Raptors took control with a 15 point lead heading to the locker room before keeping Detroit at bay the rest of the way. The Pistons held a 45.5%-43% edge in marksmanship but totaled eleven more looks at the basket including four more bombs to snag the win. Kyle Lowry led all scorers with 27 points and seven boards including five makes from distance with DeMar DeRozan scoring 26 points on 10-18 to give the Raptors a solid one, two punch. Cory Joseph netted ten points as the offense had some explosiveness ad balance.

The Washington Wizards did just enough at both ends of the floor to squeeze out a 96-91 win at Cleveland in an NBA basketball preseason tilt on Tuesday night. The Cavaliers appeared to be the team with everything going their way with a ten point first period edge but the Wizards slowly took over down the stretch but not by much. This wasn’t an offensive show with the Wizards trailing 44%-41% in marksmanship but they more then made up for their shooting with a 22-11 advantage at the charity stripe. Washington received a game high 19 points and eight boards on 7-8 from Andrew Nicholson with 17 points coming from John Wall while Marcus Thornton and Bradley Beal added 16 points an 13 points.
