The Charlotte Hornets and Minnesota Timberwolves end their NBA preseason Friday night at the Target Center on NBATV.
The Charlotte Hornets are playing on the end of a back-to-back after beating the Miami Heat. In their victory, the Hornets shot 41.5 percent from the field and made eight threes. The Hornets have now won three straight preseason games and have won every game when Kemba Walker has played more than 20 minutes. Walker has double-digit points in each of his last three points and Nicolas Batum has 37 points and 14 rebounds in his last three games. The Charlotte Hornets have been better on the offensive end as of late and have allowed 88 or less points in two of their last three games. We know the Hornets are going to be solid defensively, it’s where the scoring comes from that determines how good Charlotte can truly be.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are 4-2 in preseason play and are coming off a Wednesday win over the Memphis Grizzlies. In the victory, the Timberwolves shot 41.3 percent from the field and made three of 22 threes. Karl-Anthony Towns is coming off a 31-point performance and Ricky Rubio has 12 points and 13 assists in his last two games. Gorgui Dieng has 31 points and 12 rebounds in his last two games and Zach LaVine has double-digit points in three of his last four games. The Minnesota Timberwolves have been very consistent on the offensive end and are getting great play out of their star players. Of course, the Timberwolves are the trendy pick to make a jump this season, and judging by the preseason, there’s some serious potential with this Minnesota club.
The Hornets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Friday games and the under is 5-0 in Hornets last 5 overall. The Timberwolves are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Hornets are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are probably coming off their best preseason game yet and are catching an inconsistent Hornets team on the end of a back-to-back. I have to side with the home team and the reasonable number.
