The Phoenix Suns play host to the Golden State Warriors at the Talking Stick Resort Arena on Sunday.
After getting trounced by the Spurs by 29 points on opening night, the Warriors would have been desperate to get back on the court to make up for that loss and they were able to get the job done against the Pelicans in a 122-114 win on Friday. Kevin Durant was outstanding for the Warriors as he led the scoring with 30 points to go along with 17 rebounds and six assists and he had plenty of help as Klay Thompson added 28 points while Stephen Curry chipped in with 23 points and seven assists. Defensively, the Warriors' lack of size was once again a major factor as they just had no answer for the Pelicans' Anthony Davis who poured in a ridiculous 45 points on 17 of 31 shooting, but the Warriors simply had too much firepower.

Meanwhile, the Suns will be looking to avoid a third straight loss to start the season after falling to the Thunder by 113-110 in overtime on Friday night. TJ Warren led the team in scoring with a career-high 30 points, Devin Booker added 21 points, Brandon Knight had 19 and Eric Bledsoe chipped in with 17 points but it still wasn't enough to get past the Thunder who were led by a monstrous triple-double of 51 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists from Russell Westbrook. As a team, the Suns continue to struggle from behind the arc and they are now a combined nine of 44 on three-point attempts.
In ATS trends, the Warriors are 0-5 ATS in their last five games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last four road games against a team with a losing home record, while the Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a loss and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games against a team with a winning road record.
Head to head, the Warriors are 2-5 ATS in the last seven meetings in Phoenix and the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall.
The Warriors will be feeling much better now that they've bounced back from their blowout loss in their season opener, but they're still a long way from playing anywhere near their potential. With that being said, the Warriors could be in for a battle against the Suns, but in the end I have them pulling away and winning by double digits.
