The Houston Rockets travel to the Quicken Loans Arena to battle the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
The Rockets kicked off their season with an upset loss to the Lakers, but they’re suddenly aiming for a third straight win following back to back wins over the Mavericks. James Harden led the way with a game-high 28 points to go along with seven rebounds and seven assists while Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon chipped in with 14 points each as the Rockets took full advantage of a Mavericks team playing without their leader in Dirk Nowitzki. Defensively, the Rockets did a solid job of holding the Mavs to 38 percent shooting and just 39 points in the second half, but on the offensive end the Rockets turned the ball over 17 times with Harden the major culprit, finishing with eight turnovers.

Meanwhile, the Cavaliers have won three straight to start the season and will be full of confidence following Saturday’s 105-99 win over the Magic. LeBron James led the way with 23 points with nine assists, Kyrie Irving added 20 points, Kevin Love had 19 points and JR Smith chipped in with 16 as the Cavs dominated the Magic to lead by as many as 22 points in the third quarter before the Magic made a late run to put a scare into the Cavs’ camp. Still, despite the lapse in concentration, the Cavs were always in control of the game and are now aiming for a 4-0 start.
In ATS trends, the Rockets are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall, while the Cavs are 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games.
Head to head, the home team is 15-5 ATS in the last 20 meetings overall and the Rockets are 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.
The Cavaliers are the obvious favorites in this matchup as they've looked solid to start the season, but this just feels like too many points to be laying against a Rockets team starting to build some momentum. I'm taking the Rockets with the points in this matchup.
