The Milwaukee Bucks and the New Orleans Pelicans duke it out at the Smoothie King Center on Tuesday night.
There was so much hype about the young Bucks coming into this season but they’ve yet to find their feet and its costing them games. After winning at the buzzer against the lowly Nets on Saturday, the Bucks would have been full of confidence coming into Detroit on Sunday, but they received a rude wakeup call as they were blown out by 98-83 in a game that was close until late in the third quarter. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the scoring with 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while Jabari Parker added 13 points, but the Bucks’ lack of size in the paint was on full display as they had no answer for the Pistons’ Andre Drummond who dominated with 20 points and 23 rebounds. As a team, the Bucks shot just 39 percent from the field and four of 17 from the three-point line and on the defensive end they were outrebounded by 58-40.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans are in danger of losing a fourth straight game to start the season after falling to the Spurs by 98-79 in their home opener on Saturday night. After totalling 95 points in the first two games of the season, Anthony Davis cooled off and finished with just 18 points against the Spurs while E’Twaun Moore chipped in with 18 points of his own, but the Pelicans were really outclassed in the third quarter where the Spurs outscored them by 28-15. The Pelicans are still without key starters in Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans, but Evans confirmed on Snapchat that he is already working out and plans to return by the end of November.
In ATS trends, the Bucks are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a loss of more than 10 points, while the Pelicans are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 10-21 ATS in their last 31 against the Eastern Conference.
Head to head, the Bucks are 3-8 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and 1-5 ATS in the last six meetings in New Orleans.
The Bucks will see this game as a real opportunity to get a win against a winless undermanned Pelicans team, but I'm thinking that Anthony Davis is going to carry the Pelicans to the teams's first home win of the season.
