The Los Angeles Lakers travel to the Smoothie King Center to battle the New Orleans Pelicans tonight.
The Lakers have been one of the surprise packages at this early stage of the season as they've won four of their last five to climb to 5-4 overall. Lou Williams scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as the Lakers rallied back from 19 points to beat the Kings by 101-91 on Thursday night. D'Angelo Russell added 17 points in just 23 minutes, Nick Young chipped in with 16 points and Julius Randle added 15 points with eight rebounds and five assists as the Lakers dominated the second half by 56-36 to climb back above .500.

Meanwhile, the Pelicans had to endure through eight straight losses before their 112-106 win over the Bucks on Thursday. E'Twaun Moore had a nice game of 20 points while Tim Frazier added 15 points with 10 assists, but you can credit this win to Anthony Davis who dominated with 32 points on 12 of 25 shooting to along with eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and four blocks. It must have been such a relief for the Pelicans to finally get that first win of the season and the good news just get better as point guard Jrue Holiday has made the decision to return to the court and could suit up as early as this week.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games, while the Pelicans are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a winning straight up record.
Head to head, the road team is 27-12 ATS in the last 39 meetings and the over is 16-9 in the last 25.
The Pelicans finally got that monkey off their shoulder so to speak, but I'm going with the Lakers who are in great form and coming off a great comeback road win.
