The San Antonio Spurs and the Charlotte Hornets do battle at the Spectrum Center on Wednesday night.
The Spurs haven't quite been playing anywhere near their best lately, but that hasn't stopped them from winning six straight, including a 96-91 win over the shorthanded Mavericks on Monday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 24 points, nine rebounds and four assists, Patty Mills added 17 points off the bench while Pau Gasol chipped in with 16 points as the Spurs escaped with the narrow win against a Mavericks team missing key starters in Andrew Bogut, Dirk Nowitzki, and Deron Williams. Coach Popovich decided to rest LaMarcus Aldridge and Tony Parker for the contest but he was still irate with his team's performance despite the win, so I'm looking for the Spurs to take that on board and come out firing in the next game.

Meanwhile, the Hornets have lost four of their last six and are in danger of losing a third straight after getting blown out by the Grizzlies in a105-90 defeat on Monday. Frank Kaminsky III matched a career-high with 23 points in just 20 minutes off the bench, Kemba Walker added 17 points while Marco Belinelli added 14 points but the Hornets were simply slow out of the gates and it cost them big as they fell behind by 16-4 to start the game and trailed 69-45 going into halftime. With the disappointing loss, Charlotte drops to 8-5 on the season and 4-3 at home where they've lost two of their last three.
In ATS trends, the Spurs are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a win, while the Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following a double digit loss at home and 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games following a loss of more than 10 points.
Head to head, the home team is 11-4-1 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall and the favorite is 17-8-2 ATS in the last 27 meetings.
The Spurs will want to come out firing after getting a spray from coach Popovich regarding their last performance, so with the added bonus of Aldridge and Parker coming back into the lineup, I'm sticking with San Antonio.
