Charlotte Bobcats Vs. Miami Heat 12/26/12 Dan’s Free NBA Basketball Pick Against the Spread
The Charlotte Bobcats face a tough test tonight as they welcome Lebron James and the Miami Heat to town.
The Bobcats are 9-20-2 ATS in their last 31 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points. The Heat on the other hand are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall, but just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.
The Charlotte Bobcats had such a promising start to the season, however it’s been all downhill from there. It took the Bobcats only three weeks to match last season’s win total of seven games, however they have been stuck on that magic number ever since as they are currently riding a 15 game losing streak that has seen them fall to 7-20 overall. The main problem for Charlotte continues to be on the defensive end as they are giving up a whopping 109.4 points during their losing streak, compared to just 99.5 during their first 12 games of the season.
In their first NBA finals rematch, the Miami Heat got the better of the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas Day, coming away with a hard fought 103-97 victory to improve to 19-6 overall. Lebron James led the way once again with 29 points, nine rebounds and eight assists to help the franchise match it best 25 game start. James has now scored at least 20 in his last 30 regular-season games and in 46 games overall.
How can you possibly back the Bobcats here and feel comfortable about it? Having said that, the Heat could be due for a letdown after last night and let’s not forget that loss in Washington that no one expected to happen either. I could maybe entertain the thought if Charlotte had a full strength roster, but with Ben Gordon, Gerald Henderson and Byron Mullens all questionable through injury, I simply can’t go against the most talented team in the entire league. The boys from South Beach might take a night off tonight, but I have to roll with them because frankly there is no other choice…
