Los Angeles Lakers at Boston Celtics
NBA FINALS - GAME 3 - SERIES TIED 1-1

The Line: Boston -2.5

After an inspiring performance from Ray Allen and the Boston Celtics in Game 2, the NBA’s best rivalry returns to Boston, a place were these same Lakers were embarrassed in Game 6 of the 2008 finals as they watched the Celtics hoist the championship trophy.

After getting severely outplayed in the finals opener on Thursday night, the Celtics managed to bounce back in Game 2, thanks to a record setting night by Ray Allen who scored a game high 32 points to led the Celtics to a 94-103 win to even the series at one game a piece. Allen was the difference maker in Game 2 as scored 27 of his game high 32 points in the first half with a record setting three point display, hitting his first six three points attempts en route to a record setting seven for the half. Allen only manged to hit one more three after the major break, but it was still enough as the Celtics swapped leads with the Lakers in the fourth quarter, before eventually pulling away for the win. As good as Allen was in Game 2, his back court partner in Rajon Rondo was just important, weather it was setting up the team mate or grabbing a loose rebound, Rondo was everywhere as he finished the game with a triple double with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. For the Lakers, Pau Gasol led the way with 25 points and 8 rebounds while Kobe Bryant and Andrew Bynum scored 21 a piece for the Lakers who now face the tough task of playing Boston three times on their home court.

With the series now tied at one game a piece, the Celtics now have a great chance to take control of this series as the next three games with be played in front of their home crowd fans in Boston. While the Celtics do have a great opportunity to get a leg up in the series tonight, I expect an angry Lakers team to be standing in their way after a sub par performance in Game 2. I do think the Lakers will take at least one game in Boston, however I don’t think tonight is the night. Look for a low scoring tight contest, with the Celtics feeding of their crowd to get them across the line..

Dan’s Pick: Boston -2.5
