Golden State Warriors Vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
1/23/13 Peter’s Free NBA Basketball Pick Against the Spread
The Oklahoma City Thunder look to make it two wins in two nights as they travel to the Oracle Arena to take on the Golden State Warriors tonight.
The league-leading Thunder have just one loss in their last eight games and they are coming off a nice bounce-back victory thanks to the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. Durant poured in 32 points on 12 of 19 shooting, while Westbrook added 26 points as the Thunder took advantage of a Clippers outfit playing without Chris Paul. The Thunder's efficiency from the three-point line was really the key to the victory as they sunk 15 of 27 from distance, compared to just eight from 24 a couple nights earlier in an overtime loss to the Nuggets.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are also coming off a win over the Clippers thanks to a late barrage of three's from Stephen Curry who scored 28 points and made six of eight threes. Klay Thompson had three threes of his own to finish with 18 points and David Lee had 12 points and 11 rebounds in a 106-99 victory on Monday. Golden State had lost four of five (all against winning teams), but they've won their last two and will be feeling good about themselves if they can beat the Thunder and the Bulls in their next two games.
In ATS trends, the Thunder are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games following a double digit win and 5-2-1 ATS in their last eight games overall, while the Warriors are 5-1 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win and 17-6-1 ATS in their last 24 games against teams with winning records.
Head to head, the Thunder are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Golden State.
Both teams come into this game with good form and plenty of confidence so you there really is no right or wrong pick in this one. However, in such a tight matchup you have to take what you can get, so with home advantage and an extra day's rest, I'm taking the Warriors to win this one in a nail-biter.
