Today’s a big day for NFL fans. We’ve got several enticing matchups coming our way in the next few hours, so a date with the couch seems pretty reasonable. In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy storylines and player situations out there so we can see what we should be expecting in the day’s games. Here’s the latest.

Reggie Bush, RB, Detroit Lions: We’re still waiting on the official word, but there’s a report out there saying that Bush will be starting today against the Redskins. Detroit’s star RB has been fighting off a knee issue since last week, and is officially considered questionable on the team’s injury report.
That said, even if Bush does play, there’s no telling what sort of role he’ll have or how much action he’ll get. We can expect to see an expanded role from Joique Bell this afternoon, and he should be able to succeed against a Redskins defense that hasn’t done much thus far.

Matt Ryan, QB, Atlanta Falcons: Speaking of injuries to key running backs, the Falcons are dealing with one in Steven Jackson. That means the offensive load will be on Matt Ryan’s shoulders, and he’ll be testing the Miami Dolphins’ secondary.
Ryan is coming off a 374-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Rams in Week 2, and he’s surpassed 300 yards and has at least two scores in both games so far. Helping him out will be Jason Snelling and Jacquizz Rodgers, who don’t instill a whole lot of confidence based on their past performance. Last week, they could only muster 36 yards on the ground between them after Jackson came out with his injury. Look for a pass-heavy game from the Atlanta offense.

Broncos-Raiders Injury Report: It’ll be an intense rivalry game tomorrow night on “Monday Night Football.” Taking the field will be the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos, two squads who have a checkered history in games together. Let’s take a quick look at the injury report for this one as we await tomorrow night’s kickoff.
Starting with the Broncos, they’ve got quite a few players listed, but the good news is that most are probable. Sharing that designation are Wes Welker, Jacob Tamme (non-injury related) and Eric Decker. Of more immediate concern are their three questionable designations: TE Joel Dreessen, LB Shaun Phillips and CB Champ Bailey.
Meanwhile, the Raiders look like they’re getting off comparatively easy as far as injury report length, but will have a few players out tomorrow. Among the notable names on the report are Lucas Nix (questionable) and Tyvon Branch (out). Coverage starts tomorrow at 8:40 PM ET on NFL Network.
