The San Diego Titans look for their second win in as many weeks when they travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans who look to improve to 2-1.
The Chargers held a commanding lead on Monday Night Football against the Houston Texans to open the season before ultimately choking down the stretch and suffering a devastating loss that set up what was supposed to be one of week two’s biggest mismatches. However, Mike McCoy and the Chargers had other plans as they went into Philadelphia and spoiled the Eagles’ home opener as Nick Folk kicked a game winning field goal with seven seconds remaining in what was a very entertaining contest. Now, the Chargers look to move above .500 as they head to the road once again to take on a Titans team who was one defensive play away from starting 2-0 as they blew a late lead to the Texans, much like their week two counterparts did six days earlier. Philip Rivers has looked solid this season and if he and Eddie Royal can continue their unbelievable early season chemistry than they could very well head back home with a 2-1 mark.

The Titans meanwhile are coming off a tough outing against their division rivals from Houston as it appeared as though they had the Texans on the ropes but much like the Chargers, they couldn’t hold on to the lead and lost in overtime by virtue of a Deandre Hopkins touchdown. Tennessee was picked by very few to make an impact this season but so far through two weeks they have defeated the Steelers at Heinz Field and took the Texans to overtime at Reliant Stadium which is a pretty solid resume through two weeks. Now, the Titans return back to the Music City for their home opener and I expect them to be fired up here. Jake Locker hasn’t been a liability behind centre, Chris Johnson appears to be regaining his form, and the defense has played considerably well through two games which should set up another exciting encounter against the Chargers. San Diego is playing their second East coast game in as many weeks and the Titans have played well so far but I can’t justify taking the Titans as a field goal favourite in a game that is at best a pick’em. I like San Diego to cover the three.
