Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) at Buffalo Bills (2-3)

The Line: Buffalo Bills +7.5 -- Over/Under: 41 See the Latest Odds

The Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals face off on Sunday in Orchard Park in week 6 NFL action.

The Buffalo Bills are in last place in the AFC East, but they aren’t too far back to be competitive over the long haul. With E.J. Manuel out and Jeff Tuel looking inept in relief, the Bills turn to Thaddeus Lewis at QB, who had been on their practice squad and who has one NFL start to his credit. C.J. Spiller is getting dinged up on a weekly basis, but he is averaging 4.0 yards per carry with a touchdown and he has nine catches and Fred Jackson is averaging 4.8 yards per carry with four touchdowns and he has 17 catches. Steve Johnson has 20 catches and two touchdowns, Scott Chandler has 18 catches, and Robert Woods has 16 catches and two touchdowns. The Bills defense is allowing 26 points and 377.4 yards per game with nine interceptions, 18 sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Kiko Alonso has 44 tackles, Manny Lawson has 35 tackles, and Da’Norris Searcy has 33 tackles. The Bills have been consistently inconsistent so anything is possible for this team.

The Cincinnati Bengals are in a three way tie for first place in the AFC North, but they have yet to win a road game this season. The Bengals offense is averaging 18.8 points and 330.2 yards per game, but they are defense first. QB Andy Dalton has completed 65.1 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and five interceptions, while being sacked 11 times. BenJarvus Green-Ellis is averaging 2.9 yards per carry with three touchdowns and Giovani Bernard is averaging 4.6 yards per carry with two touchdowns and he has 14 receptions out of the backfield. A.J. Green leads the Bengals pass catchers with 31 catches and three touchdowns, Jermaine Gresham has 22 catches, and Mohamed Sanu has 18 catches. Defensively, the Bengals have been rock solid, allowing 17.4 points and 316.8 yards per game with five interceptions, 13 sacks, and five fumble recoveries. Vontaze Burfict has 50 tackles, Rey Maualuga has 38 tackles, and Terence Newman has 25 tackles. The Bengals defense is one of the more solid units in the NFL.

Buffalo is 4-0 against the spread in their last four home games, 4-0 against the spread following a loss, and 5-2 against the spread following a game in which they didn’t cover the point spread. Cincinnati is 5-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 16-7-1 against the spread following a win, and 10-3-1 against the spread in their last 14 games overall. The underdog has covered the spread in the last four meetings of these two.

The Bengals have been horrible on the road and the Bills have been strong at home, but the Bengals also feast on teams with losing records and they should do so again here.
